# 2D Drawing Import

When you are exporting multiple shapes, you should position the shapes with spacing between the objects on the same plane when exporting as you see on the picture below. To export a 2D file from Rhino / Adobe illustrator, select the shapes you would like to export and follow these steps:

1. From the File menu, click Export Selected or Save As.
2. In the dialog box, the Files of type list displays the currently supported file types for export. Choose .dxf
3. Enter file name and destination

## Extruding 2D files in Fusion

* To import your .dxf drawing in Fusion 360, click on file in the top left corner, and press upload.&#x20;

* Press "Show data panel" and click on "Admin Projects" to find your uploaded file and double click on it.

Now that you have your uploaded .dxf drawing open, you can extrude your shape.&#x20;

* Press "E" on your keyboard or click the icon in the left corner, then select the shapes you want to extrude. Enter the precise thickness you need for the piece. Use a caliper to measure accurately.&#x20;

## Manufacturing in Fusion 360

With your object(s) now extruded, you can start creating a manufacturing file for your project. Depending on if you have one or multiple object you would like to manufacture choose either "**Single Object Setup**" or "**Multiple Object Setup"** below.

### Single Piece Setup

If you have a single object to CNC route, you can start here. Press the link "Single Object Setup" below.
